It was used for airmail stationery because of its light weight, for typewriter paper because of its high strength, and for record sheets, books with many pages, and Bibles because its thinness made it compact. While most onion skin paper is characterized by wrinkles caused by natural drying, YAMAMOTO PAPER Smooth Onion Skin is a paper with high smoothness due to dry-wheel drying. This makes it highly writable. Despite its thinness, even low viscosity fountain pen ink does not bleed through to the back of the paper, and it has high colorability. And there is no back-through even when overlaying with alcohol markers or oil-based pens.
